Everything sold on hedonist-tourist.com is a digital product — a downloadable guide or a bespoke travel design service. Nothing is shipped. This page explains how purchases work and what applies if something goes wrong.
Digital Guides
How you receive your guide
Immediately after your purchase is confirmed, a download link appears on your order confirmation page. A copy is also sent to the eamail address you provided at checkout. Keep that email — it is your permanent access point.
If your download link does not arrive or stops working, write to hedonist.tourist@gmail.com and I will sort it out.
Returns and refunds
Digital guides are non-refundable once downloaded. This is standard for digital products under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)), which provides that the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content that has been made available with your prior consent and acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right to cancel.
By completing your purchase, you confirm that you understand and agree to this.
That said — if there is a genuine technical problem with your download, or if the guide does not match its description, please write to me directly. I will make it right.
Personal Travel Design Service
How payment works
The travel design fee is charged before work begins. Payment confirms your dates and triggers the design process. Because the service involves significant time and proprietary knowledge, it is non-refundable once work has commenced.
If you need to cancel before I have begun work on your itinerary, write to me as soon as possible. I will do my best to find a fair resolution.
Amendments and adjustments
Revisions are part of the process — they are built into the service. Details of how many rounds of revisions are included at each level are on the Personal Travel Design page.
Your Rights as an EU Consumer
If you are based in the European Union, you have statutory consumer rights that these terms do not override. For digital content purchased without prior consent to immediate delivery, a 14-day cooling-off period applies by default.
If you have a complaint that I have not resolved to your satisfaction, you can contact the CNPD (cnpd.pt) or use the EU's online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
Currency & Pricing
All prices on this site are listed in euros (€). This applies to both digital guides and the personal travel design service.
If you are paying with a non-euro card — US dollars, British pounds, or any other currency — the amount charged will be converted at the exchange rate applied by your card issuer at the time of payment. That rate, and any foreign transaction fees your bank may apply, are outside my control. The euro price shown at checkout is the amount you are agreeing to pay.
I do not offer refunds on the basis of currency fluctuation or exchange rate differences.
International Buyers
This site is operated from Portugal and welcomes buyers from anywhere in the world. Regardless of where you are based, all purchases are governed by Portuguese law and, where applicable, European Union regulations.
UK buyers
The United Kingdom operates under its own retained version of GDPR (UK GDPR) and consumer protection legislation that closely mirrors EU law. The refund terms set out on this page — including the digital content withdrawal exemption — apply equally to UK purchasers. If you have a data-related complaint that I have not resolved, you may contact the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk
US and other international buyers
There is no US federal right of withdrawal for digital purchases, and no cross-border obligation for me to accept returns. The refund terms on this page apply to all buyers regardless of location.
If something has genuinely gone wrong with your purchase — a failed download, content that does not match its description, a technical error — write to me directly. I will resolve it. The no-refund policy exists to protect the integrity of the work, not to leave anyone stranded.
